Human IL-15 ELISA Kit_P162018

Description

Human IL-15 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) Kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit used for quantitative determination of Human IL-15 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. Specific anti-IL-15 antibodies are pre-coated onto high-affinity enzyme plates. Standards and samples are added to the wells of the enzyme plate, and after incubation, IL-15 present in the sample binds to the solid-phase antibody. After washing to remove unbound substances, a detection antibody is added for binding and incubated, followed by washing, and then the enzyme complex (Streptavidin-HRP) is added for binding and incubated. After washing, a colorimetric substrateTMB is added for color development, avoiding light. The intensity of the color reaction is proportional to the concentration of IL-15 in the sample. The reaction is terminated by adding a stop solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm wavelength (with a reference wavelength of 570 - 630 nm).

Interleukin-15 (IL-15), a widely expressed 14 kDa cytokine, plays a crucial role in numerous immune-related diseases. It shares approximately 97% and 73% sequence identity with IL-15 from primates and rodents, respectively. IL-15 is secreted by monocytes/macrophages (and some other cells), especially macrophages following viral infection. With similar biological functions to IL-2, IL-15 stimulates T cell activation and proliferation by sharing the γc receptor subunit with IL-2. The roles of IL-15 in autoimmune processes (such as rheumatoid arthritis) and malignancies (such as adult T cell leukemia) underscore its significance as a key immunoregulatory molecule, garnering considerable attention from researchers.
